What is the role where you will make an impact?
Process Engineer
The Process Engineer supports the development, scale-up, and implementation of new technologies and manufacturing processes at the TekniPlex Global Innovation Center (GIC) in alignment with business unit strategic growth initiatives. This position collaborates with Technology Center Principal Engineers, business unit process engineers, equipment suppliers, and internal development teams to advance new products and technologies from development through commercialization.
What will you do?
- Develops multilayer lamination processes using various plastic materials in support of new product and technology development.
- Plans, conducts, and documents process trials and experiments, analyzes results, and communicates findings and recommendations to project teams.
- Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots process equipment, including associated tooling and auxiliary equipment.
- Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal development teams and business unit process engineering teams regarding project activities, technical findings, and results.
- Supports business units in troubleshooting and resolving technical, manufacturing, product, and customer-related issues.
- Assists in the development of annual process equipment, tooling, and related capital and expense budgets.
What skills do you bring to the role?
- Associate degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- 1–3 years of related engineering, manufacturing, or process development experience, including experience supporting new product or process development.
- Experience working with manufacturing processes, process equipment, tooling, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Consumer Products, Healthcare Packaging, Medical Devices, or other regulated manufacturing industries.
- Experience with plastic materials, multilayer lamination, extrusion, or other converting processes.
Additional Considerations
- Internship, co-op, academic, or professional experience within Consumer Products, Healthcare Packaging, Medical Devices, or other relevant manufacturing industries.
- Experience with lamination processes and/or other plastics converting technologies.
- Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE), basic statistical analysis, process capability, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory, pilot-scale, or manufacturing process equipment.
- Coursework, project experience, or practical knowledge related to polymeric materials, manufacturing processes, process development, or new product development.
The compensation range for this position will be $65k-$70k plus a target bonus incentive.
