Role details

Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an automotive manufacturing organization, is seeking a skilled Production CAE Analyst. This role is responsible for developing injection molding process simulations, optimizing thermoplastic component and tooling designs, and correlating simulation results with real-world molding and tool trial results.

Job Duties

• Perform filling, packing, cooling, and warpage simulations using Autodesk Moldflow
• Develop simulation plans based on material properties, gating feasibility, cavitation, dimensional requirements, and cosmetic requirements
• Optimize injection molded part designs, tooling designs, and processing windows through CAE analysis
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend improvements to dimensional stability and cosmetic quality
• Support injection molding tool trials and correlate Moldflow predictions with actual molded-part results
• Troubleshoot molding and processing issues in collaboration with tooling, manufacturing, and engineering teams
• Maintain simulation models, technical reports, analysis documentation, and project records
• Support technical presentations, analysis requirements, project timing, and CAE-related program deliverables

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering, Materials Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline
• 5–10 years of relevant plastics process simulation, injection molding, or production CAE experience
• Hands-on Autodesk Moldflow experience performing injection molding simulations
• Experience with filling, packing, cooling, and warpage analysis for thermoplastic components
• Strong knowledge of injection molding processes, plastics processing, tooling, and material behavior
• Experience supporting injection molding tool trials and correlating simulation results to physical molded parts
• Experience performing root cause analysis and process optimization for dimensional or cosmetic molding issues
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for technical analysis and reporting
• Plastics Engineering or Materials Science educational background
• Automotive plastics or automotive component manufacturing experience
• Experience with compression molding, injection compression molding, thermoset processing, or other plastics manufacturing processes
• Experience with HyperMesh or similar CAE/pre-processing tools
• Autodesk Moldflow Associate, Professional, or Expert certification
• Experience with Power BI, data analytics, macros, automation, or advanced reporting tools
• Exposure to AI-enabled analytics, automation, or chatbot technologies
• Working knowledge of structural CAE concepts related to fiber orientation, residual stresses, and weld lines in plastic components
