Polytek® Development Corp. is a leading manufacturer of mold making and casting materials. Polytek® is currently looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and extremely organized individual to join our rapidly expanding company.

*The Epoxy Business Development Manager is responsible for driving the growth of Polytek/CPD epoxy systems through new business development, technical sales support, and strategic customer engagement within the composites market. The position serves as both a commercial and technical resource, working closely with customers, distributors, R&D, marketing, and sales teams to identify opportunities, develop application solutions, conduct demonstrations, and support new product and technology initiatives.

The Business Development Manager is expected to be a trusted advisor to customers by leveraging deep knowledge of composite resin and adhesive systems to solve manufacturing and design challenges.* *The ideal candidate will have a strong background in thermoset composites and adhesive technologies, with experience supporting markets such as marine, aerospace, defense, and industrial composites. Candidates should possess 10+ years of successful sales and business development experience in the epoxy and composites industry, along with a proven ability to develop customer relationships, drive revenue growth, provide technical consultation, and identify new market opportunities.

The role requires strong communication and leadership skills, a working knowledge of epoxy, polyurethane, polyurea, silicone, and latex technologies, and a willingness to travel extensively throughout domestic and international markets.*

Essential Job Functions

Major tasks and other key responsibilities include:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for Polytek/CPD Epoxy Systems.
  • Earns customer trust by knowing the composite resin and adhesive systems deeply and translating that knowledge into practical solutions.
  • Develops and sustains strong working relationships with customers, distributors, and internal teams.
  • Recommend solutions and performs technical visits (meetings, audits, demonstrations, troubleshooting, etc.) for new opportunities. Discuss the potential sales opportunities with sales team.
  • Support new Technology projects, collect data, customer evaluation support, etc.
  • Participant in lab work for customer development/new test method design/new formulations.
  • Maintain contact with prospects, customers, and partners. Discuss current and new-release product features and uses.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and case management daily through phone, email, and other forms of communication to customers.
  • Work with Sales Manager/Director, Product Manager, Marketing, and Sales Team to develop customer strategies and implement those strategies.
  • Provide technical insights to help guide new application developments.
  • Provide market insights to inform and update business strategy.
  • Train and mentor less experienced colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate records in the quality management and customer relationship management tools (CRM).
  • Identify training opportunities and assume ownership for self-development and training of others.
  • Lead technical presentations presented to customers in support of sales.
  • Conduct demonstrations and educate market on product offering.
  • Prepare documentation and maintain knowledge data base of technical tips and technical resolution outcomes (CRM).
  • Attend industry events, gain membership into industry associations, and manage interactions with contacts in partners and customers.
  • Be exposure to different technologies and accessory applications. (Epoxy, Polyurethane, Polyurea, Silicone, & Latex)
  • This position requires up to 50% travel. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight. Domestically and internationally.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when entering manufacturing areas.

Education And Experience

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to understand, speak, write and read English.
  • B.A./B.S Degree preferred.
  • 5 - 10 years of experience fabricating or supervising of thermoset composites
  • Familiar with liquid adhesive technology like Epoxy Chemistry, Polyurethane, Polyurea, Silicone, & Latex.
  • Good communication with different internal functional team as well as customer
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, attention to detail, analytical, problem-solving and time management skills.
