About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Quality Engineer to support our automotive manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for ensuring products and manufacturing processes consistently meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in an automotive Tier 1 manufacturing environment, understands IATF 16949 and automotive core tools, and is comfortable working directly on the manufacturing floor to identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions.

Experience with plastic injection molding, assembly, or similar high-volume manufacturing processes is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily production quality activities and resolve manufacturing and customer quality concerns.
• Investigate internal and external quality issues using structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis.
• Lead and document 8D corrective actions and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
• Maintain and improve PFMEAs, Control Plans, work instructions, inspection standards, and related quality documentation.
• Support APQP and PPAP activities for new products, engineering changes, and process changes.
• Apply automotive core tools including FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, APQP, and PPAP.
• Analyze scrap, defects, customer complaints, process capability, and quality trends to identify improvement opportunities.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Tooling, and other departments to improve manufacturing processes.
• Support customer complaints, containment activities, corrective actions, and customer-specific reporting requirements.
• Participate in internal, customer, and third-party quality audits.
• Support compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 requirements.
• Develop and improve inspection methods, quality standards, and process controls.
• Support launch activities and ensure quality requirements are incorporated into new and modified manufacturing processes.
• Drive continuous improvement focused on reducing defects, scrap, rework, and customer concerns.

Qualifications

------------------

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical field preferred.
• Previous Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and 8D problem solving.
• Experience conducting root-cause analysis using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, and Pareto analysis.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and customer requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate directly with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Experience with plastic injection molding and/or automotive assembly processes is a plus.
