WHO WE ARE

Join the Team Building World-Class Aircraft. Epic Aircraft is a leading manufacturer of high-performance, all-carbon-fiber, single-engine turboprop aircraft. Driven by innovation, safety, and craftsmanship, we have earned a reputation as a premier aerospace manufacturer. Located in beautiful Bend, Oregon, Epic offers an exciting work environment surrounded by mountains, rivers, and year-round outdoor recreation. If you're looking for a hands-on career with growth opportunities in the aerospace industry, we'd love to meet you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a member of the Engineering team, the Liaison Engineer I/II develops engineering solutions to address nonconforming parts, assemblies, and aircraft systems, including the correction of manufacturing and design issues identified during production.

This role works closely with Manufacturing, Quality Control, and other Engineering disciplines to evaluate issues, determine appropriate corrective actions, and support the safe, efficient production and continued operation of the aircraft.Repair solutions and corrective actions may involve composite structures, interiors, payloads, electrical systems, functional testing, finishes, aerodynamics, electromagnetic environment, damage tolerance, fatigue, static strength, propulsion, safety, and other aircraft systems.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate nonconforming aircraft structures, parts, and assemblies to develop technically sound engineering dispositions and practical repair solutions
  • Perform structural analysis, including static strength calculations and load evaluations, to substantiate repair designs and determine the acceptability of nonconforming components
  • Develop structural repair solutions for composite and metallic aircraft structures, considering structural integrity, manufacturability, and aircraft safety
  • Provide direct engineering support to Manufacturing and Quality Control to investigate and resolve structural, mechanical, and design-related production issues
  • Apply engineering principles and practical manufacturing knowledge to develop solutions that meet design requirements while minimizing production disruptions to enhance quality and serviceability through Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements to evaluate technical issues and support engineering decisions
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality Control, and other Engineering disciplines to identify root causes, develop corrective actions, and implement improvement initiatives
  • Investigate structural and mechanical issues affecting in-service aircraft and develop engineering solutions in support of continued air
  • Support engineering projects involving aircraft structures, mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and flight test activities
  • Apply sound engineering judgment while considering structural integrity, regulatory requirements, manufacturing capabilities, and production priorities
  • Develop and apply knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), FAA requirements, and applicable aircraft certification processes
  • Other duties as assigned or required

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Required

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience, preferably involving structural engineering, mechanical design, manufacturing engineering, or production support
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, such as aerospace, materials, mechanical, or a closely related engineering discipline
  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, strength of materials, load paths, and structural behavior.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with an understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, specifications, and practical production constraints
  • Demonstrated mechanical design aptitude and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate technical issues, evaluate alternatives, and develop practical, technically justified engineering solutions
  • Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) tools and familiarity with engineering analysis methods
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly document and explain technical decisions
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with Manufacturing, Quality Control, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Adaptability and confidence working in a dynamic manufacturing environment where technical priorities and production requirements may change
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in a Liaison Engineering or Material Review Board (MRB) role, evaluating nonconforming parts and assemblies, developing engineering dispositions, and supporting manufacturing operations
  • Experience in aircraft structural engineering, including structural calculations, static strength evaluations, load assessments, and development of structural repair solutions for nonconforming parts
  • Hands-on experience supporting aerospace manufacturing or aircraft production, including investigation and resolution of manufacturing nonconformances, production issues, and design-related challenges
  • Experience working with composite aircraft structures, particularly carbon-fiber materials, bonded assemblies, laminate construction, and composite repair techniques
  • Experience developing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), engineering repair instructions, or other technical documentation
  • Familiarity with aircraft structural design, load paths, mechanical joints, fatigue, and damage tolerance
  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), FAA requirements, or aircraft certification processes
  • Demonstrated ability to independently resolve complex technical challenges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
