Position Description

The Analytical Technology Team plays a vital role in advancing the company's research, development, and commercial objectives by applying a diverse range of analytical and materials characterization techniques. We are seeking an Analytical Technician Contractor to join our team at the Global Innovation Center in Philadelphia, PA. This laboratory-based position provides analytical support for R&D programs, product development initiatives, and commercial operations.

Working alongside experienced analytical scientists, the successful candidate will perform laboratory testing, operate advanced instrumentation, analyze data, and contribute to the characterization of complex coating and polymer systems.

Roles Responsibilities

• Prepare samples, standards, and test materials for analytical characterization.

• Operate and maintain analytical instruments to evaluate the composition, structure, and properties of coatings and polymeric materials.

• Analyze and interpret experimental data and communicate results through reports, presentations, and electronic data management systems.

• Perform routine instrument calibration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.

• Adhere to laboratory quality standards, regulatory requirements, and Global Innovation Center Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies.

• Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Skills

• Associate degree (AA/AS) in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related technical field.

• Strong analytical, mathematical, computer, and problem-solving skills.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Bachelor's degree (BS) in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related scientific discipline (preferred).

• Laboratory experience ranging from entry-level to experienced professionals in a scientific environment (preferred).

• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following analytical techniques: Chromatography and Mass spectrometry: GC, GPC, GC/MS, HPLC/LC/MS; Microscopy: SEM, Optical Microscopy; Thermal Analysis: DMA, DSC, TGA; Spectroscopy: NMR, FTIR (preferred).

• Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and software tools such as Minitab (preferred).

• Experience with experimental design, analytical method development, and method validation (preferred).

• Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities (preferred).

• Interest in materials characterization, coatings science, and technology development (preferred).

Education

• Associate degree (AA/AS) in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related technical field.

• Bachelor's degree (BS) in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related scientific discipline (preferred).
