The Role

We are seeking a hands-on

Polymer Chemist / Materials Engineer

to drive resin formulation and polymer development for our cutting-edge orthopedic devices. In this on-site role, you will design, synthesize, and characterize advanced polymer systems, scaling concepts from the lab to high-performance medical prototypes.

What You'll Do

  • Resin Formulation & Polymer Synthesis:

Design, formulate, and synthesize novel polymer resins and post-functionalized polymers tailored for orthopedic applications.

  • Materials Testing & Analysis:

Evaluate mechanical and physical properties (tensile strength, elasticity, thermal behavior) to ensure safety and quality.

  • Instrumental Characterization:

Perform and troubleshoot advanced analyses using FTIR, DSC, DMA, TGA, GCMS, HPLC, and GPC.

  • R&D & Iterative Optimization:

Drive experimental design to improve existing polymer profiles and create high-performance composite systems.

  • Documentation & Collaboration:

Maintain precise electronic lab records, draft testing protocols, and present insights during weekly multidisciplinary team meetings.

What We're Looking For

  • Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Polymer Science, Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field (Advanced degree strongly preferred).

  • Experience:

1–3+ years of hands-on laboratory, R&D, or industrial formulation experience.

  • Technical Mastery:

Deep familiarity with polymer chemistry, resin formulation, composite systems, and material characterization techniques.

  • Bonus Points:

Prior background in biomaterials, medical device development, or orthopedic applications.

  • Mindset:

Strong analytical problem-solving skills, high learning agility, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit suited for a fast-paced start-up environment.
