Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented R&D Technician II for the Platform Management Team. This position is responsible for configuring product information used to build and maintain platforms within Mosaic software and to support custom formula development programs across all divisions. Success in this position is critical to advancing Sherwin-Williams' customer, sales, and facility/distribution model while sustaining a competitive advantage.

Job duties include contact with other employees and access to confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company’s staff, employees, and business relationships.

This role is not remote/hybrid. This role will report to Sherwin-Williams Morikis Global Technology Center located at 6745 Miller Road, Brecksville, OH 44141.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include

• Configure and maintain platforms within Mosaic Admin, ensuring seamless collaboration across multiple business functions in alignment with BIOS and future stakeholder-defined implementations.
• Demonstrate an understanding of color science principles and their application to paint products.
• Perform validation activities and communicate results to leadership .
• Effectively collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams on assigned projects.
• Develop a technical and business knowledge related to color formulation and paint products.
• Maintain safe operating procedures through a thorough understanding of safety regulations and laboratory practices.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status)
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 6 months of experience in a lab setting
• Strong math skills
• Experience maintaining accurate records
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with visual and computer color matching programs
• Knowledge of Sherwin-Williams PCG products
• Knowledge of basic paint concepts
• Knowledge of basic color theory and instrumentation
